Minutes of the regular meeting held Wednesday January 18, 2005.

Meeting called to order at 1500 by Vice President BMCM Bechtler, presiding.

Minutes of the last meeting (December 21, 2005) were accepted without reading by unanimous vote.

Reports

Treasurer (HSC Wong): Report accepted as printed. 

Fundraising (CWO DeCastro):

• Weekly Bingo attendance numbers are down, although last week was better with 18 in attendance.  If you’re able to assist with Bingo, contact CWO DeCastro.

• BOD has been exploring other fundraising options.  One of which is a company coin to be marketed to recruits.  Production of the coin should be completed in approximately two weeks.

• If you have any ideas or suggestions, please pass them along to CWO DeCastro.

Long Range Planning (MCPO Bechtler):  Committee met for the first time earlier this month.  Discussion was very good and the committee is looking into companies to research fund options.

Ways & Means (BMCM Andersen (Ret)):  If you have any ideas or suggestions for future raffles, see Ib.  He’d like to hold another raffle in March.

Silver Lifetime (CPO Barr):  NTP

Election Committee (HSCM Berry):  Congratulations to all the newly elected CPOA Officers.

Patient Advisory (Vacant): NTP

50/50 Raffle:   Doug DeCastro was this month’s winner.

Old Business

None.

New Business

1)      1)      HSC Wong made a motion for NTE $1000.00 for up front money for New CPOA Officer installation dinner costs.  The motion was seconded and passed.

2)      2)      BMC Dolbow made a motion for NTE $105.00 to cover temporary housing costs for CPO Yawn, the brother of recently deceased BM1 Yawn, while he is here tending to details BM1 Yawn’s death.  The motion was seconded and passed.

Good of the Order

1. Ib – There have been numerous hits on the new Cape May CPOA website.  If there’s anything you’d like to see on it, contact BMCM Ib Andersen at (609) 889-6647, Cell (609) 972-6453, or by email at kc2jpo@comcast.net.

2. A question was raised regarding the CPOA sponsored CAB availability over the holidays.  There was no data available as to how much it was utilized, but the consensus was that it is a good program and worth continuing.

3. BMCM Bechtler – The BOD recently had a good discussion regarding CPOA funds.  Projects were categorized and prioritized and info will be passed on to the incoming Officers.  The top priority was and still remains to be taking care of our own.

4. Next CCTI is 21 April.

6. The following articles were received concerning YNC Marie Kyati’s involvement with the Dennis TWP Chamber of Commerce Secret Santa program throughout the Christmas holiday.

    Following a moment of silence for those Chiefs not present, meeting adjourned by unanimous vote at 1526.
