Minutes of the regular meeting held Wednesday April 19, 2006. Meeting called to order at 1505 by Vice President Shumate, presiding.

Minutes of the last meeting (March 15, 2006) were accepted without reading by unanimous vote.

Treasurer (HSC Wong): Report accepted as printed.

Fundraising (CWO DeCastro):

  1. • MCPO Berry states that Graduation Coin sell is going well. The coins are available for $10 with engraving (max 18 characters for each line; up to two lines). Please contact MCPO Berry or CWO DeCastro to purchase or information on the Coins.

  2. • There will be a Marathon Bingo on 4th June 2006 @ 1300. Looking for volunteers to help at this event. Please contact CWO DeCastro for more information.

Community Involvement (ETCM O’Neill):

  1. • Adopt-A-Highway activities will be in May, June, and September 2006. Please contact MCPO O’Neill for more information.

  2. • Multiply Sclerosis Bike-A-Thon will be in May. Looking for volunteers to help with this event. Please contact MCPO Wayne Adams (Ret) for more information.

Public Affairs (DCCM Yowell):

  1. • Pictures of the Ocean Drive Marathon have been submitted to the Chief’s Magazine.

Sick & Distressed (BMCM Anderson):

  1. • Mrs. Kitty Pritchard (CG Exchange) passed away on 11 Apr 06 after a long illness.

  2. • Wanda’s (CG Exchange) Son passed away. Card will be sent on behalf of the Chapter.

  1. • 50/50 drawing will be held today. Grand Prize is $1,690 and (5) $100 winners. The Chapter made$1,690 profit.

CPO Lounge Liaison:

  1. • Place a posted note when the gas grill tanks are empty. The Lounge Committee will refill them.

  2. • If alcohol is being served during functions in the Chiefs’ club, there must be a qualified bartender present. Please contact Wayne Adams if there is a need for a bartender or for more information.

  3. • Thanks to all the volunteer who help with painting the Chiefs’ Club

  1. 1) HSCM Berry made a motion to do another "raffle" drawing for $200 from the pool of 50/50 previous raffle only for people in this local area have a chance to win. Motion seconded and not passed.

Good of the Order

  1. 1) That time of year for the President Outstanding Chapter Award submission which is due NLT 20 July 2006. If anyone interested in chairing or being part of this committee, please contact any elected officer.

  2. 2) The 38Th Annual CPOA Convention is 14-18 August 2006 in Indianapolis, IN. The Chapter is sending one delegate to the convention (President). If the President cannot attend then it will be the Vice President or any BOD member.

Following a moment of silence for those Chiefs not present, meeting adjourned by unanimous vote at 1540.
